February 2010 Newsletter

February 17, 2010

Greetings from Camp Penuel East

We just want to start by saying we are very excited about our 2010 season.  At the time of writing this letter we already have kids booked from Youngstown, OH - Olean, NY - Erie, PA and South Bronx, NY.  We believe that this is going to be a great year.  God is in control and we are expecting a lot of kids to get to know Him through salvation this season.

We want to thank everyone that gave to us last year and those that have already started giving this year.  We want to encourage everyone to consider giving a consistent monthly gift.  We began to see an increase in this last season, and it made a big difference in what we were able to accomplish.  We don't want people to give until it hurts.  We just ask you to consider $5 or $10 a month or pray about what God would have you give, it seems small but it makes a big difference.  We want to be able to do more for the kids we reach out to and to be able to update and add new things to our facilities.  We rely on the kindness and generosity of others to keep this camp going strong.  We also rely on your prayer support.  We know that prayer works and that God wants to hear from us all.  So please continue to pray for us for wisdom and strength and that God will continue to move in the lives of children that come here.

We have many openings on our calendar for 2010 for retreats and weddings.  If you or someone you know would like to use our facility please give us a call and see if the dates are available.  The most frequently asked question regarding using our facilities is; how much does it cost?  This is what we tell everyone that asks that question.  All we want in exchange for the use of this facility is a donation and we do not have a minimum or suggested donation.  Whatever you or your group gives will allow us to have more kids come here for free.  We can accommodate for almost any groups needs if you want more information please give us a call and we would be happy to answer all of your questions.

We are in need of certain skills that some of you may possess.  We need plumbers, electricians, drywall worker, and painters.  We are looking for skilled individuals that may be interested in donating their time and talents to the camp.  There are some jobs that we just can't do by ourselves.  We would like to find some friends of Camp Penuel East that we could call when we need some help.  If you would be interested in helping out give us a call or send us a note letting us know.  We want to take a moment to thank all of the people that already donate their time and talents - Thank You.

We want to let everyone know about our spring banquet this season, it will be Saturday May 1, 2010.  If you want to come to the banquet, please send us a note or call us or even an e-mail to:  jeremy@penueleast.org.  Space in our lodge is very limited and we can't invite everyone that supports us.  So please mark this on your calendars and free up some time for great food and great fellowship.
There are some supplies that we will need and since our next letter won't be going out until April we will put the word out now.  We will need cleaning supplies (Windex, Bleach, Floor Cleaner, Toilet Cleaner, Paper towels).  We still need some dish towels for the kitchen at the lodge.  We don't need any more blankets or pillows, but if you have already collected some for us we would be glad to have them.  We need some 6 foot tables either wood or plastic, preferably the plastic type, for our lodge.

Just a personal note.  I love this ministry.  I believe in what God is doing through our camps.  I hope that our enthusiasm for evangelism and serving the Lord is contagious.  I hope that everywhere we go that people would gain an excitement and joy about seeing others come to Christ.  My wife and I are committed to seeing the lost get found.  We are just happy to be a small part of what God wants to do here.  We can't wait to see what He has in store for us this season.
