February 2012
We expect to see great things happen this year.  Please keep us in your prayers this season.  We can’t say enough about the importance of our supporters praying for the success of this ministry.  Prayer is the best foundation to build upon and we know it has kept us sustained for all of these years.  This is the 39th year of ministry for Camp Penuel as an organization.  This is the 18th year for Camp Penuel East and our 5th year as the Directors of this ministry.  You couldn’t sustain this kind of ministry for this long without the love and support of a lot of wonderful people.  It cost a lot to run a free camp, but think of the cost of not doing this ministry.  Who would reach these children that so many have written off or considered them just another statistic?  Who would tell them about Jesus and show them how to receive Him as their Savior?  Thank you for considering the cost and believing in the mission of Camp Penuel.

One of the greatest things about working with kids is how open they are to whatever God wants to do.  As people get older and their innocence of youth fades away, it is important to look back sometimes and remember the time when you could just take God at His word, or when you could accept His plans for you without question or reason.  It is refreshing to see how real the encounter with God is and how much it means to these kids.  I heard something the other day that has really stuck with me and I want to share it with you.  “The only thing that is impossible for God is to go against mans will.”

Our plan for 2012 spring renovations.

If there is anything on this list of renovations that you or your group would like to help with please call and we can set up a work day in the spring. (all of these projects depend on if there is enough budget to complete these)

(1) Renovate the dorm building which would include: repairing the walls, painting the walls and ceiling, fixing some plumbing issues, installing proper doors on the stalls and we need to replace some of the mattresses and repair some beds

(2) Grounds clean up and tree removal

(3) Install a light/vent in the bathrooms in all of the cabins that will turn on automatically This will alleviate the moisture problem that occurs in such a small space with no ventilation which can lead to mold issues.

Equipment Wishlist for 2012:

John Deere Gator or some type of utility vehicle with a dump bed.

A Water Trampoline with accessories for the lake.

Reciprocating saw (sawzall)
